A stable and deep atmosphere that resonates within the body, from which emerge sonic events representing manifestations of the ego within what should be a state of total dissolution.

Feedback from room microphones, e-bow and stone on the strings of a piano soul, manifestations of nature in the city, purely urban sounds and symbolic noises recorded from the ground collected in the surroundings of the European Parliament and at the cathedral of Brussels.

The result of the residency was a concert that was streamed by Morada Sónica festival (Almería, Spain)

Concept

I observe how the dissolution of the ego becomes imperative for us to turn into humanity and pass through this pandemic moment together. An immersion in the abyss to listen to the silence, return to earth and look at life and the planet from the bond and not from a self that is an expanded illusion.

It is a difficult task to reconstruct what has been dissolved, to be someone again after having been nobody and to understand how, after visiting Nothingness, Everything becomes important and manifests itself as an inseparable part of being. "I is another," Rimbaud wrote, "I is Everything else," I would say. When this sensation is perceived, the only possible attitude is based on empathy and care despite how delicate it can be to adapt to the new vision of life.

The piece that I present is entitled 'Care', a stable and deep atmosphere that is listened to with the body, from which sound events emerge. These represent the manifestations of the ego in what should be a state of total dissolution.

Based on methodologies used by Eliane Radigue, the work contains sounds induced by the feedback of microphones installed in the room, waves caused by e-bow and stone on the strings of a piano soul, manifestations of nature in the city, some  purely urban sounds like the sound of traffic lights that also remind me a lot of Eliane in her way of using percussive repetition generated by synthesis. The sound of the Earth collected with a geophone in the surroundings of the European Parliament and in the cathedral of Brussels (I am interested in the symbolism of sound, the sounds that represent a moment).

Una atmósfera estable y profunda que se escucha con el cuerpo, de la que emergen sucesos sonoros que representan las manifestaciones del ego en lo que debiera ser un estado de total disolución.

Retroalimentación provocada por micrófonos situados en la sala, e-bow y piedra sobre el alma de un piano, manifestaciones de la naturaleza en la ciudad, sonidos puramente urbanos y grabaciones de ruidos simbólicos subterraneos recogidos en los alrededores del Parlamento Europeo y en la catedral de Bruselas.

El concierto, resultado de la residencia, fue transmitido en streaming por el festival Morada Sónica (Almería, España).

Concepto

Observo cómo se hace imperativa la disolución del ego para convertirnos en humanidad y transitar juntas por este momento pandémico. Una inmersión en el abismo para escuchar el silencio volver a tierra y mirar la vida y el planeta desde el vínculo y no desde un yo que es una ilusión expandida.

Difícil tarea la de reconstruir lo que ha sido disuelto, volver a ser alguien después de haber sido nadie y entender como, tras visitar la Nada, Todo se hace importante y se manifiesta como parte inseparable del ser. ‘Yo es otro’ escribió Rimbaud, ‘yo es Todo lo demás’ diría yo. Cuando se percibe esta sensación, la única actitud posible se basa en la empatía y el cuidado a pesar de lo torpe que puede ser la adaptación a la nueva visión de la vida.

La pieza que presento se titula ‘Care’, una atmósfera estable y profunda que se escucha con el cuerpo, de la que emergen sucesos sonoros que representan las manifestaciones del ego en lo que debiera ser un estado de total disolución.

Basada en metodologías utilizadas por Eliane Radigue, la obra contiene sonidos provocados por el feedback de micrófonos instalados en sala, ondas provocadas con e-bow y piedra sobre las cuerdas de un alma de piano, grabaciones de campo que recogen manifestaciones de la naturaleza en la ciudad, algunos sonidos puramente urbanos como el sonido de los semáforos (que también me recuerdan mucho a Eliane en su forma de utilizar la repetición percutiva generada por síntesis), el sonido de la Tierra recogido con un geófono en los alrededores del Parlamento Europeo y en la catedral de Bruselas (me interesa el simbolismo del sonido, los sonidos que representan un momento).
